Stuff I've Done Between Migraines and Allergies
Gave myself a bit of a... I guess you could call it a "quarantine haircut"? It's just a 3/4ths inch trim post-shower every other week or so. I used to watch a bunch of "how to cut your own hair in a particular style" tutorial videos on youtube when I was in high school with the intent of holding onto that knowledge for the nebulous future of when I moved away from my parents for further education. Glad to know that it didn't totally go to waste. I also finally sucked up the Parent Angst and Courage and cut kiddo's bangs/fringe to a manageable length for them. Kiddo is so much happier not having to brush hair out of the face all the time! Husband and I are happier seeing kiddo happier. We had wanted to let kiddo decide when the whole "First Haircut" happened, but desperate times and all that.
In other news, I am slowly working on the angst-fic I mentioned a few weeks ago. I'm trying to do a little, tiny bit at a time, when I can. I also found that I... don't really have a want or need to edit the previously-written parts? Which is for me is a big step toward liking and accepting my own writing. I've almost always felt like I'm at the "conscious amateur" stage when writing (e.g., "my grammar isn't on par with what and how I'm writing"), so this is a bit of a nice change of pace! ...Though I worry about complacency, come to think of it! XD
Additionally, I'm in the process of assembling a list of vocal warm-ups for doing podfic/audio recording in general. It's been frustrating to do this, since way back in 2013 I'd been in an operatic singing class that had, IMO, the best type of vocal warm-ups that in the intervening years I'd just... forgotten about. I had to look up a bunch of warm-ups and cross-reference those with semi-faulty memories ("I don't have muscle memory for that, so it must not have been in the warm-ups roster" etc.). Eh. At least it's done and I can move forward.
